Roofer-First, Not Fitter-First
A Velux Is Only As Good As the Roof Around It
Most leaking Velux windows were not leaking windows at all. The window did its job; the flashing around it was never integrated with the tiles or slates properly, or the roof covering nearby was already on its way out. Fitting the window is the easy part. Making the roof around it watertight is the roofing.
That is why Velux and skylight work sits naturally with us. As the roofers Weston-super-Mare trusts, we fit brand-new Velux windows alongside major or minor roof work: cut in correctly between or around rafters, flashed with the proper kit, and dressed into the covering so water sheds the way the roof intended.
And if your existing Velux is misted up, stiff or dribbling in the corners, we will tell you honestly whether it needs replacing or whether the fault is in the flashing or the surrounding roof. You get the answer before you spend a penny, because every job starts with a free inspection.
What We Do
Velux & Skylight Services in Weston-super-Mare
New installations, replacements and leak diagnosis, all handled by the roofing team rather than passed around.
Velux Replacements
Old, misted or worn-out roof windows swapped for new ones, with the flashing renewed at the same time. If the surrounding covering is tired, we will flag it before it becomes a leak.
Leaking Skylight Diagnosis
Water around a Velux usually means flashing or covering, not the window. We find the real fault, fix it properly, and only replace the window if it genuinely needs replacing.
Fitted Alongside Roof Work
We fit brand-new Velux windows alongside major or minor roof work. If a strip and relay is already booked, adding the window to the same job saves a second round of access and disruption.
Free Inspection First
Every Velux job starts with a free, no-obligation inspection. You find out exactly what the opening needs and what it will cost before any work is agreed.
Fully Insured, Expertly Fitted
Over 15 years of experience and fully insured on every job. The work is expertly fitted with quality materials, from a single roof window to a full re-roof with three.

FAQs
Velux & Skylight Questions, Answered
Common questions about fitting roof windows in Weston-super-Mare.
Can a Velux window be added to my existing roof?
In most cases, yes. We cut the opening between rafters or rework the rafter layout where the span needs it, fit the window with its proper flashing kit, and make good the surrounding tiles or slates so the roof reads as if the window was always there.
Why should a roofer fit my Velux rather than a general fitter?
A Velux is only as watertight as the roof around it. As roofers we integrate the flashing with the covering properly, check the timbers around the opening, and fix any weak spots nearby in the same visit, so the window does not become the leak everyone blames it for.
How much does a Velux window cost to fit?
The cost depends on the window size, the roof covering and how much work the opening needs. Rather than guess, we start with a free roof inspection and give you a no-obligation quote before any work is agreed.
Can a Velux be fitted during a bigger roof job?
Yes, and it is the smart way to do it. We fit brand-new Velux windows alongside major or minor roof work, so if you are having a strip and relay, adding the window to the same job saves a second round of access and disruption.
Which areas do you cover for Velux and skylight work?
We are based in Weston-super-Mare and are usually first on scene for roofing across North Somerset, with work carried out across the United Kingdom. If you are local to Weston, a Velux fitting is right on our doorstep.
